Value is not the same as price
I'm not going to say every aftermarket part is junk. That's too simple. For a bucket tooth, a door hinge, or a non-critical filter, a lower-priced option can be a reasonable choice. But when a part failure stops production, you are not buying a part. You're buying reliability, availability, and the likelihood that it works the first time.
This is where I use a different equipment example. A condensate pump is a small part. Its real value shows up only when it fails and water backs into a system; then the repair bill is based on damage, not on the pump's cost.
